So it snows

1. Refill
Fill the candle snow into a fireproof container. The wax grains will adapt perfectly to the shape of the container.

2. Ignition
Place the desired wick in the middle of the candle snow and light it. The candle snow will begin to melt evenly.

3. Cooling down
Once the candle snow has gone out, allow it to cool completely. Carefully remove the wick to reuse it and the candle snow.

burning time
burning time
The total burning time of 500 g of candle snow can vary greatly, depending on the wick used ( fireplace or cotton wick ), the size and shape of the container used as well as the number and positioning of the wicks .
To maximize the burn time , it is recommended to choose a vessel with a smaller diameter and adjust the number of wicks accordingly. However, candle snow burns more slowly compared to conventional candles and can offer up to 120 hours of burn time .
wick
wick
Do I need to use a new wick every time I use it ?
No , you don't have to. As soon as the candle and especially the wax has cooled down , you can remove the wick if necessary and break off the wax that is stuck to it in order to reinsert the wick into the candle snow.
Before you light the wick with a match or lighter, make sure that the wick protrudes about 5-8mm from the candle snow. If it is inserted too deep, the flame will go out due to the melted wax. If the wick protrudes too far from the candle snow, it will burn even faster.
After a burning time of about 5 hours per wick (5cm length), it can tip over into the liquid candle snow due to a lack of stability . We recommend replacing it afterwards.
fragrance oil
fragrance oil
Yes, you can add your own fragrance oil to your candle sand to create a custom scented candle. However, there are a few important things to keep in mind to ensure the candle burns safely and effectively.
candle-friendly fragrance oil
Use fragrance oils that are specifically designed for candle making. These are designed to be heat resistant and burn safely.
Essential oils
They can also be used, but be careful : some essential oils are very volatile and may not work optimally at high temperatures or may even become dangerous (e.g. due to overheating or evaporation).
Please be careful with the dosage . A maximum of 10 drops per 100g of candle sand is sufficient.
Vessel
Vessel
We don't want to limit your creativity in any way! However, there are a few things to consider before you lose yourself in your ideas :)
The material should be heat-resistant and, above all, non-flammable . The shape should be chosen so that the vessel cannot tip over . In addition, the opening should be large enough to supply the flame with enough oxygen . Also make sure that your vessel does not transfer the heat to the surface, such as the wooden table.
Remember, if you want to let the candle shine outdoors , the flame should be protected from wind and weather .
